Service vans join the fleet

MAN TGE Mercedes Sprinter Service Van 24hour

We’ve recently taken delivery of 4 new service vans, equipped to tackle commercial truck and trailer breakdown’s and repairs.  The vans all hit the road in January 2018 and have proven great additions to the fleet.

We took delivery of a Mercedes Sprinter, a Renault Master and 2 MAN TGE’s .  With the assistance of Van Racking Solutions, Woodway Engineering and Jim Bars they were ready to hit the road!

At the same time, we added new pieces of equipment to strengthen our service offering to our customers, including truck and trailer diagnostics such as DAF Davie, JalTest, Texa, WABCO, Haldex and Knorr Bremse.  We’ve also added trailer check equipment from Dr. Air Brake, which has allowed our technicians to carry out on-site service and inspections.

For more information or if you require breakdown or maintenance assistance, please call 0330 333 4545.  We’re available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

Newest vehicle to the fleet

truckfest volvo boniface recovery hgv

We’ve recently taken delivery of our latest vehicle from Boniface Engineering.  A 2011 Volvo FH with i-Shift was chosen at the chassis and an Mk6 Interstator with twin winches and stiff legs options.  The vehicle is also equipped with a VDZ towing kit allowing it to recover the latest manufacturer vehicles.  It made its first appearance at TruckFest Knutsfords alongside RS17 REC”300″ and as you can see we went for something special for the paintwork again.  It features Call of Duty theme crafted by Matt the Painter.

Emergency services training exercise

We had the pleasure to assist the West Midlands Emergency services by recovering a bus into place on the A38 Aston Express Way in Birmingham.  An exercise was undertaken throughout the night and coordinated with a number of agencies to simulate a major road traffic incident.  National Express West Midlands who’d provided the bus, asked us to deliver it and put it place with a number of special requirements so that it was as realistic as possible.

We were glad to have been involved in such an exercise and its importance for continually improving the emergency services.  A short video on the West Midlands Fire Service can be viewed below.

Versatility added to the Fleet – Foden 6×6

foden 6x6 recovery truck

We welcome the addition of an ex-Army Foden 6×6 recovery truck with rotating crane.

With the addition of the Foden we believe it will allow us to tackle the most challenging of incidents.  The rotating crane is a fantastic bit of kit which will give greater agility on-scene. It will also help improve the time it takes to complete the task at hand.

Thank You!

A big thank you to ASW Recovery in Norwich who have sold us this to us. They are retiring from the industry and we snapped this up as we knew it had been well looked after.  Bob and Joyce have been great to deal with over the years and we wish them a well deserved, relaxing retirement.

Newest addition to the fleet

The equipment is from Boniface Engineering in Thetford.  We went for the Recoverer Trident with Side-winders (which you can see extended out from the side of the vehicle).  We already had a similar specification vehicle on the fleet but with a 3-axle chassis, so we knew what to expect.  The side-winders add great winching capability and stability to the truck when towing heavy loads.  It’s the first time we’ve gone for a 4-axle chassis and we can now see why it is so popular among other operators.  The additional axle adds better steering and braking which is critical in certain scenarios.
