RS Recovery partners with Dudley Community First Responders

Local Emergency Care

We believe that supporting our local community goes beyond providing roadside assistance. It’s about helping people when they need it most. At RS Recovery, we’re incredibly proud to announce our partnership with Dudley Community First Responders (CFR). Dudley CFR is a dedicated local charity made up of trained volunteers who play a crucial role, alongside their day jobs, in emergency medical response across the Dudley borough.

Making a Life-Saving Difference

Recently, we had the pleasure of meeting Dan from Dudley CFR to confirm our commitment to supporting the group’s vital work. Community First Responders are volunteers trained to attend 999 calls in their local area. CFRs often arrive on scene before an ambulance. They can immediately provide essential first aid and life-saving care, while at the same time stabilising patients during critical situations, such as cardiac arrests, breathing difficulties and severe trauma.

What this Partnership Means

Through this partnership, RS Recovery will provide breakdown assistance and recovery, helping to ensure responders stay mobile and ready for action. Furthermore, we will be working together to raise awareness of the group’s mission and promote fundraising efforts.

Supporting Dudley CFR reflects our shared values – community, care and safety – values that sit at the heart of everything we do.

How You Can Help

We’re proud to stand with these dedicated local heroes and are actively finding new ways to support their mission. Every donation and volunteer hour fuels Dudley CFR’s life-saving work in our community.

Together, we’re keeping our community safe – one call at a time.

From Slide Bed to IVR Trainer

From Slide Bed to IVR Trainer: Michael’s Journey with RS Recovery

At RS Recovery, we pride ourselves on fostering home-grown talent, supporting professional growth and recognising the dedication of our team. Meet Michael, our in house IVR Trainer at RS Recovery, whose journey with us is a testament to commitment, skill and continuous development.

Michael began his journey at RS Recovery several years ago, starting out behind the wheel of a slide bed vehicle. From day one, he demonstrated a strong work ethic, reliability and a natural aptitude for the demands of vehicle recovery. It wasn’t long before his potential stood out and he soon progressed into the challenging world of heavy recovery – a role that requires not only technical skill but calmness under pressure and a thorough understanding of complex recovery operations.

Eager to expand his capabilities even further, Michael took the initiative to gain his incident manager qualifications, positioning himself as a key player in coordinating and managing complex recovery incidents on the roadside and beyond.

Now, we’re incredibly proud to announce that Michael has taken on a new and important position within the RS Recovery team: our in-house IVR (Institute of Vehicle Recovery) Trainer. In this role, he is responsible for sharing his extensive experience and expertise with the next generation of recovery operators – ensuring our high standards are passed on and upheld across the team.

Michael’s progression through the ranks is not just a personal achievement but a reflection of our commitment at RS Recovery to invest in our people. His journey embodies what’s possible when dedication meets opportunity.

Well done, Michael!

Apprentice to Expert!

🔧 Meet Adam, HGV Roadside Technician!

Roadside Tech - Adam
He started out with his first job as an apprentice at a main dealer, where he spent 18 years developing his skills through hands-on work and in-house training. Adam built a strong foundation in diagnostics, inspections and advanced fault-finding and after a stint at a local family-run business working across a range of vehicles and trailers, he joined us at RS Recovery in 2024.
“What I enjoy most? No two days are ever the same. One minute I’m at a depot diagnosing a generator that won’t start, the next I’m on the motorway with a trailer that’s locked up. I love thinking on my feet – especially when it’s an electrical issue that really makes me dig deep.”
We asked him what keeps him motivated. His answer – “The love for the job, the constant challenge and that feeling when you get something sorted. That’s what it’s all about.”
💡 Since joining RS, he’s completed IVR Levels 1, 2, 3, and 27 for roadside safety, plus his IMI in heavy EV/hybrid vehicles.
⚡Most common breakdowns: Faulty lights, ABS issues, engine or exhaust faults.
🧠Biggest lesson learned: “Good communication – with control, customers and suppliers – goes a long way.”
🛠 Favourite jobs? “The ones that test your brain and teach you something new.”
Not your average 9-5? That’s right. “When you’re on call, the day ends when the job does. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
At RS Recovery, we believe in empowering our technicians with the tools, training and support they need to thrive – we know a great team keeps our customers moving.
